Year 3 Week 45

There has been a progress in my writing since the past few weeks. Good job Qila! Good job! Thanks to the supervisor for being straight and ensured that i will send any written draft every two weeks, no matter how many pages i could write, even though i was only able to write just 3 or 4 pages within the given time. Thanks for putting up with me, Prof!

Here i want to share my writing technique that i'm currently practice. This technique was taught by a lecturer (pardon me, i'm so bad with names nowadays) during my research skills programme. Even my supervisor has encouraged me to do the same.

1st, I will start with writing my methodology, which is the easier part in the thesis. If you are in your final year, like myself, we should know and recognise all techniques that we are going to apply in our research study, right?

2nd, write on results you obtained. Before you start writing, ensure that all results that you need to put in one chapter have been compiled together. If you didn't have a complete result, you could still write on a certain part of your results, don't wait until it's all there in front of you and only then you would start to write. Clock is ticking, and you don't want to waste those precious time.

3rd, once i have completed the results, the next step will be a bit tougher --writing for discussion. To survive this part, i should prepare myself with supporting facts which mostly obtained from journals and books. I have to ensure that my arguments in this section are strong, relevant and also supported by  actual facts that can be trusted and came from highly recognised sources. I mostly spent considerable time in this section compared to others as it requires a lot of attention and every argument must be put into details and well-written.

done with the hardest, here comes the relaxing part, the introduction. By this time, i should know enough what is going on in that chapter. i bet, it won't take longer than writing the discussion part.

so, for those who are struggling to write like me now, what have you been up to so far? mind to share?
:)
