outcome of my presentation
Alhamdulillah, saya berjaya memperolehi 32/40 keseluruhannya

Cardiff Day 3
Cardiff, 14/4/2010
18:43
I really enjoyed myself learning about fungal isolation with N, one of Prof LB’s PhD student . She seems like a teacher to me and ensure that I had full understanding on everything I’ve heard from her. We spent most of the time in lab and N had shown me step-by-step isolation techniques and it was fun though. It seems easy but you have to be careful especially during the medium making. If you’re not ‘clean’ enough, your medium in petri dish will definitely get contaminated!
What I’ve learnt today:
1. Learnt agar making with T
2. Fungal isolation technique by using branches
3. How to prepare a medium inside lamina flow
4. How to sub-culture individuals
Tomorrow will be my last day at Biosciences Building. I'll probably meet N and Prof LB to thank them for their willingness to have me around. N has already provided me with samples and sub-cultures to bring back to my lab and run them myselves. She is so kind!
I can feel my lab spirit has came back after awhile! I should get going then!

Cardiff Day 2
Cardiff, 13/4/2010
17:48
It’s the 1st day spent at Cardiff University. Plus so many input getting into my brain and I feel like I have enough for today. All I need is just a peaceful sleep and everything will be just fine tomorrow. I had an ice breaking session with all Prof LB’s postgraduate students and most of them were in their final year writing up their thesis chapters. But me? Still coping up, still learning and so many things to be discovered for the next 2 and a half years. Hearing their white coat-in-the-lab days were absolutely tremendous. They really love what they are doing and loaded with information to talk to when I started to ask more about their study. They really know what they are doing..(of course they should! hoho)..
Updated:I already have 6 hours nap in the evening, enough to make my eyes awake for another 3-4 hours so tonight I will have some journals reading given by Prof LB and one of her students and prepare for tomorrow’s labworks. Chaiyok Qila!
Cardiff Day 1
Cardiff, 12/4/2010
22:48
Hari ni jumpa Kak Izan, one of my colleague kat UMT.. we talked a lot pasal study masing2 and she has given me a lot of advice and study tips. She has been very generous and kind to cook for us and even brought us to the building I suppose to go tomorrow for my lab practices. One of her advice for me is to list everything down of what I want to write in every chapter of my theses (make in boxes). By doing so, I will be able to identify any redundancy in terms of facts on any contents of my theses chapters. What a good advice!
